Nadine and Spencer meet Krysta, Denise and Pearl who bring the Big Auntie Energy! In this episode at The Native Canadian Centre of Toronto community learning takes place with the delightful craft of condom beading and everybody competes to win the EBC Game Show. No topic is off the Talking Room table as our Aunties share their stories to shine a light on Indigenizing sex ed and indigenous ways of knowing and being.
In this episode we meet Tyson and his family. He’s on the autism spectrum and is ready to share his perspectives on life, love and growing up! Now 12, Tyson thinks it’s time to step into the dating scene but how do kids on the spectrum navigate relationships to prepare them for love? Step one: attend a dating boot camp or better still, play the Untitled Dating Game, a computer game designed by Tyson! Our EBC gender flexible dolls, Ginger and Blue, share their relationship tips. We also discover some classic dating ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ as Tyson showcases his many talents in his search for love.
This episode brings back some EBC2 alums and Nadine and Spencer to talk about abortion. What do the kids know, feel, and think about this very politically and emotionally charged topic? Discover what it’s like inside an abortion clinic with a tour of the Cabbagetown Women’s Clinic. Special guest, Gabriella Carafa, broadens the topic, especially for people with disabilities. In the EBC kitchen, we talk choices, share more facts and dispel myths without judgement or shame. Let’s all keep talking!
It’s Valentine’s Day in EBC Land as Nadine and Spencer and the cast explore rejection and consent as we all build resilience strategies together. This is a concept-based session that will get everyone thinking about the effect feelings can have on decision-making. Our discovery activity is a visual exploration identifying the feelings we all feel as key to building resilience whilst highlighting the importance of having a toolkit of coping skills. Meet EBC gender flexible dolls, Ginger and Blue, and resident dragons as they take centre stage in some fun role play to showcase resilience in action as we learn to rebuild our foundation when things get messy.
Nadine and Spencer and some EBC alums welcome special guest, Quinn Lazenby, from Action Canada, to delve into definitions and introduce fun activities from their book, Beyond the Basics (BtB) sexuality and sexual health resource. Our experts shed light on our definitions and corral all the action. There’s bus travel to Agreestown and Disagreesville to learn about virginity, abstinence, and asexuality and a fast-paced action-packed interplanetary game about identity and attraction. The planets (balls!) fly in our galactic Dodge Ball battle – who will reign supreme?
Nadine and Spencer meet Bee, founder of Jooux and the titan of sex ed for the Deaf, Deafblind, Deafdisabled, Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened. Gathering at the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf we’ll meet a group of students and guest, Gaitrie, to explore the unique challenges when it comes to sex ed and co-existing in the hearing community. Communication is key in any relationship and what fun to learn that sign language is just one of the ways to build safe, affirming, and joyous relationships in today’s noisy world!
11 year old Abby has a few celebrity crushes and hopes to one day be a stylist to the stars. In this episode, we explore feelings around self-identity, and the lack of hot disabled celebrities. Spencer admits his celeb crush…who could it be? Abby’s super-positive attitude shines through, and when Nadine & Spencer set up a manicure station they learn more about her dreams and goals. The conversation turns to running and promoting your own business and how to manage your image on-line — with fun selfies to celebrate making new friends.
In this episode we meet three adult housemates – Morgan, Krystal and Maddie. They talk about what was missing from sex-ed classes when they were kids, and explore safe sex products, periods and lots more! In their play, The Sperm Dance, safe sex takes centre stage. Each housemate plays a sperm, and our co-host, Spencer, plays the role of The Egg. The Egg is tasked with judging each sperm as they compete for its attention. In the end, it’s Nadine who steps in as Birth Control and shuts things down. What a fun house this is!
15 year old Cameron feels he’s ready to start a family with his girlfriend, but we soon discover he doesn’t really know how babies are made. After a rousing game of Scrotum Ball and talking about testicles, Cameron gets a Reproduction 101 lesson from Nadine. We round out the episode with a puppet show to reinforce the importance of consent and why communication is so important in any relationship. Although Cameron’s big dog, Kylie, doesn’t seem to listen.
10 year old Audrey wants to know why some people are gay. Nadine and Spencer answer her question and talk about different kinds of sexual attractions. We learn that hateful attitudes towards gay people can come from being scared of those who are different. When it comes to crushes, Audrey has some good advice for Ginger and Blue, EBC’s gender flexible dolls, and our hosts play a fun EBC card game to see if Audrey can tell who is gay–just by looking at them.
9 year old Owen loves dragons and dressing up. What fun seeing Owen twirl around in a blue dress he finds in the discovery box. Nadine and Spencer talk about touch and consent using our EBC dragons. It’s never too early for an anatomy lesson using our gender-flexible EBC dolls, Ginger and Blue, and some snap-on body parts end up in some very interesting places!
What’s the difference between a vulva and a vagina? Is it normal to have hair on my vulva? How does a clitoris work? In this episode we explore how each vulva is unique in appearance — features such as pubic hair, labia size and symmetry, and skin colour all vary from person to person. We also learn that there’s a lot more to the clitoris than meets the eye! The kids compete in a Vulva Relay, a special guest asks a question that’s on everyone’s lips and the teens make some new discoveries about the vulva!

Ginger and Blue role-play some consent scenarios and we meet Andrew Gurza, a disability awareness consultant who talks openly about how consent applies to everybody!
Every Body Curious puppets, Ginger & Blue get a makeover as the students learn all about genitals in a fun and very playful way. Animation provides the scientific facts of all that’s going on down there, and the students get to play Pin-the-Ovaries-on-the Uterus to learn some facts about what’s happening inside the body as well.
Puberty can be a confusing time, but knowledge can help make things a little easier! What are some signs our bodies are going through puberty? When does it start? And what happens when it does? Hosts Eva and Nadine share some fun fruit analogies to highlight what’s going on with the body. In this episode, we’ll learn about what’s happening in the mind and in the body during puberty. We also get some insight into what causes those adolescent mood swings as Louisa Jewell, Canada’s leading expert in positive psychology shares what’s really going on.
Gender expression is how a person chooses to express themselves, while gender is how they feel on the inside. Eva and Nadine discuss pronouns and the kids learn more about what gender is all about. We meet Kaleb, a trans man who shares his gender journey during a fun and informative Q and A. As well, the kids play a game of musical-chairs-with-a-twist to learn more about how everyone can feel comfortable expressing who they are.
Orientation is all about who a person is attracted to. The kids discover that not everyone feels attraction in the same way and that some people do not experience sexual attraction. Local Drag Queens, Fay Slift and Fluffy Soufflé drop by for a delightfully candid discussion about all things orientation from their POV. The kids learn more about LGBTQ2+ and pose some very interesting questions for Fay and Fluffy.
Why do people kiss? What happens when we kiss? The kids explore how kissing is different in family, friendly, and romantic relationships in the Every Body Curious Kissing Wheel game – featuring Ginger and Blue who demonstrate the myriad of kisses indicated on the wheel.
Being connected is awesome but nothing done online is really private. Everyone is in control of how much or how little they share and knowing how to use social media and the internet safely is the best protection. Eva and Nadine challenge the kids as they demonstrate some key digital dos and don’ts via gameplay that shines a light on trust, privacy and the shared responsibility we all have when it comes to navigating the world wide web.
Everybody loves something or someone but the most important person to love is yourself. Eva and Nadine tackle love head-on and challenge the kids during a special Every Body Curious version of The Game of Things. Self-love becomes front and centre when the topic of masturbation is part of the gameplay providing lots of opportunity for some key learnings and debunking of some common myths.
